Day 1
From Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
Briefing and pickup in Arusha, then a two- to three-hour drive to Lake Manyara. Lodge check-in and lunch, then an afternoon game drive through savanna, forested valley and lakeshore habitat for buffalo, elephant, olive baboon, tree-climbing lion, antelope, giraffe, wildebeest and zebra, with the park's 400-plus bird species including pelican, stork, flamingo and cormorant. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2
To Serengeti National Park
Breakfast, check out, and a roughly six-hour drive to the Serengeti via Maasai villages and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch on arrival, then an afternoon game drive before dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3
Full Day Serengeti
An early game drive to catch predators returning from the night's hunting, looking for lion, cheetah, gazelle, wildebeest, wild dog, hippo, warthog, impala, giraffe, elephant, hyena, topi and ostrich. Either return to the lodge for lunch and a second drive, or take a picnic lunch and stay out in the park. Evening at the lodge.

Day 4
Game Drive in Serengeti and travel to Ngorongoro with a stop at the Olduvai Gorge
A game drive through the Seronera Valley including the Simba kopjes where cheetah and lion shelter their cubs. Lunch, check out, and transfer to Ngorongoro with a stop at Olduvai Gorge if time allows. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5
Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Experience
An early breakfast and a descent to the crater floor for game viewing, picnic lunch inside the crater and a second drive. The operator describes the caldera's wildlife, including zebra, wildebeest, black rhino, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, hyena and leopard, plus flamingos on the crater wetlands and hippo pools. Back to the lodge for the evening.

Day 6
Maasai Cultural Experience
An unhurried breakfast, then a visit to a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro Highlands to spend time with the community and learn about daily life, schooling, music and dance, with a chance to try beadwork and fire making. Afterwards the drive to Arusha with a lunch and shopping stop, and drop-off in town or at the airport.
