Day 1
Day zero: Arrival
Airport pick-up and transfer to the hotel with a safari briefing. Overnight at Arusha SG Resort.

Day 2
Arusha to Ndutu
Away from the Arusha hotel at 08:00 for the roughly six-hour, 260km drive to Ndutu, entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area about three and a half hours out as hilly forest gives way to open grassland. A half-day game drive on arrival with a picnic lunch. Ndutu sits on the migration route and holds Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek; the operator names six cat species here - leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval and wildcat. Game drive ends around 18:00. Overnight Kontiki Tented Camp Ndutu.

Day 3
Ndutu
A choice of a full-day game drive from around 08:00 with packed lunch, returning about 17:30, or a 06:20 early morning drive, a return to camp around 10:30 for lunch and rest, then an afternoon drive from 15:00 to 18:00. Dinner and overnight Kontiki Tented Camp Ndutu.

Day 4
Ndutu to Central Serengeti
Morning game drives at Ndutu, then on to the Serengeti National Park by late morning. A day-long game drive across the plains with a picnic lunch, looking for the big five and the granite kopjes that shelter their own flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight Serengeti Heritage Camps.

Day 5
Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu
An early breakfast and a morning game drive, then a descent into the crater floor at about 10:30 for a five-hour game drive among elephant, buffalo, black rhino, hippo, hyena, cheetah and lion. A picnic lunch at the hippo pool before the steep ascent out. Overnight at Mvuli Hotel, Karatu.

Departure
Departure from Karatu to Kilimanjaro airport.
