Day 1
Arrival at Kigali International Airport
Met on arrival in Kigali and transferred to the city hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel or Hotel des Mille Collines. (Rwanda leg.)

Day 2
Travel to Volcanoes National Park
About a two-hour drive north to Ruhengeri through the hills towards the Virungas, arriving mid-morning to relax, with the option of the Iby'iwacu cultural village outside the park. Dinner and overnight at Da Vinci Lodge, Muhabura Hotel, Bisate Lodge or Singita. (Rwanda leg.)

Day 3
Volcanoes gorilla tracking, Rwanda
Briefing at Kinigi, then allocation to a group of eight trekkers and into the forest with guides and armed rangers, anything from one to more than five hours depending on the gorillas' movement, then one hour with the family. Afterwards a transfer to Kigali with a brief city tour. Overnight Kigali Serena Hotel or Hotel des Mille Collines. (Rwanda leg.)

Day 4
Flight from Kigali to Arusha, Tanzania
Transfer to Kigali airport and the scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro airport, then by road to the overnight lodge in Arusha or in Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight at Whistling Thorn Tented Camp, Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge, Maramboi Tented Camp or Tarangire Safari Lodge.

Day 5
Tarangire National Park
A full day of game viewing in Tarangire, known for its large elephant herds and four of the big five including leopard, with lion, giraffe, gazelle, warthog, hippo and zebra. The Tarangire River, which gives the park its name, is the focus. In the evening, a visit to nearby Maasai villages. Overnight as day 4.

Day 6
and 7: Serengeti National Park, wildebeest migration
Transfer to the Serengeti sector best placed for migration viewing, which the operator gives as the Seronera Valley in the central Serengeti, with November and December named as the best months there. Two days of early morning and afternoon game drives among the migrating wildebeest and zebra, with the big five, cheetah, hyena, hippo, crocodile and savannah birds including ostrich.

Departure
Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for the onward flight.
